Adelaide

I decided to take full advantage of my private school having a longer holiday than the other schools in July and flew straight from Darwin to Adelaide for another mini adventure.
It was cold, but we were more prepared for it than in Sydney at least. Rented a nice cosy cottage in the Barossa Valley with a log fire and a spa bath. Our tours of the wineries nearby ended up pretty much focused on the port, which we happily drank by the fire.
We rugged up and took a long walk around some nice waterfalls. Walking with a tour guide friend pretty much ensures that you have to take the longest detours and avoid the shortcuts.

Also did the obiligatory tourist visit to something big, somewhere outside Adelaide. Australian country towns like to create big versions of everyday items to lure tourists and provide some amusement on long road trips (for me every trip in this huge country seems like a long road trip). Strangely enough it works!
